So what is the difference between sensitive and sensitized skin?
Sensitive skin is inherent, which basically means it is a genetic trait. People with sensitive skin are often prone to eczema, psoriasis, asthma, allergies and blush easily. Signs and Symptoms: Heat- Skin feels hot to touch and turns flushes easily. Redness - Small capillaries are usually dilated and are visible on the cheeks, nose and chin. Fragility - Capillaries often rupture, due to the lack of strength to withstand ongoing expansion and contraction of blood flow. Dryness - The skin feels taut, flakes easily and loses moisture rapidly as a result of being too thin. Sun Sensitivity - Thin, hot skin is more susceptible to the harsh effects of the sun.
